Like my Grandma Does

Behind the house, she has a rose garden with various other flowers dispersed throughout.
Earlier I posted about my Grandpa's part of the garden here in Omak. You can see it here. Well this post is what my Grandma takes care of at this house.
Adding a bit of color next to her pink roses.

This ivy she has had since my uncle brought it home many years ago when he was in high school. She takes cuttings every year to make sure it returns the next.

Marigolds greet them at the edge of their driveway.

More pink to greet visitors on the front porch.

Along with a cheer-full blue jay.

I'm not a big fan of petunias, but these ones I am quite fond of. They do look good I would have to say.

  2. Your Grandma's flowers are a bright addition to the yard. I know a lot of people think that the good old "standby" Petunia is just too common for their garden... but it is so easy to grow!

I actually like the really dark purple ones as they have a sweet fragrance, I don't think the other colors do.

I like to pair them up with Sweet Allysum and put in pots on the patio, close to the seating areas.

  3. I forgot to say thanks for joining my Bunny Hop Party! Hope to see you again :)

Also, I'm sorry I had to delete the first comment, but it was combined with another comment. I've been having trouble posting comments so I "copy" them before posting.

I didn't think you'ld want to also see the comment I left for Kim at Starshine Chic... but you might want to go look at her fab blog. Tell her I said "hi".

  8. Gorgeous pictures! The blue jay is so cute! I love plants and gardens but I don't have a green thumb. My husband makes up for it, he's an agronomist. He takes care of the plants in our balcony back home in Sicily...I grow basil, coriander and parsley. I'm following you from Rome, we're here for the summer!
